District 6 Town Hall with April Mcclain DeLaney and Neil Parrott

Join us at Shaare Torah in Gaithersburg for back-to-back town halls with the nominees for Maryland’s 6th Congressional District: Democrat April McClain Delaney and Republican Neil Parrott. The candidates will talk about their positions on key issues including Israel, fighting antisemitism and much more. Attendees can submit questions in advance.

The town hall will begin with McClain Delaney at 10:00 AM, followed by Parrott at 11:00 AM.

April McClain Delaney

Born and raised in rural Idaho, April McClain Delaney is an attorney and philanthropist and former federal government official.

McClain Delaney practiced as a media lawyer for much of her career. In 2006, she founded the Washington, D.C. division of Common Sense Media, a nonprofit advocacy group focusing on the effects of online and televised media on children. In 2022, President Joe Biden appointed her Deputy Assistant Secretary for Communications in the Department of Commerce. She also was deputy administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, which serves as the principal adviser to the president on communications and tech matters.

McClain Delaney and her husband, John, who represented the 6th Congressional District from 2013 to 2019, are parents to four daughters and live in Potomac.

Neil Parrott

Neil Parrott

A lifelong Marylander, Neil Parrott served three terms in the Maryland House of Delegates, from 2011-2023.

Before starting his own small business in Hagerstown in 2003, Neil worked as a traffic engineer at the State Highway Administration in Frederick County, then served as the Deputy Director of Public Works for Engineering for the City of Frederick.

In 2016, Neil and his wife April, along with their three children, founded the Hagerstown Area Summer Swimming program to promote safety in the water and healthy competition. Neil serves as Head Coach, and the league has now served over 1,000 swimmers in Washington County. Neil partnered with the Boys & Girls Club and the City of Hagerstown to provide low-cost swim lessons to hundreds of children in the community.
